There are different options and special features for the various social networks. In this article, you can read what applies to the individual networks.
Post formats
You have several options for Facebook posts.
Photo: Text and one or more images that you add from your media library
Video: Text and a video that you add from your media library. You can add tags, a thumbnail and subtitles (from an SRT file)
Status: Simple text
Slideshow: Text and a slideshow of several images that you add from your media library. Also, adjust the display and transition time of the images
Carousel: Text and a carousel of different images from a link
Link: Text and a link including preview. For verified domains, you can edit the link preview. Depending on the type of verification, you may have to click on Domain Verification under the link after entering the link. You can adjust the name, caption, description and image of the link
Reel: A Reel post with a video from your media library.
Due to limitations in Facebook's interface (API), some post types cannot be published via Facelift. These are as follows:
Facebook Storys
Facebook Group Posts
Facebook Surveys
Facebook Shop Posts
Facebook Live Videos
Facebook Events
Page mentions
You can mention other Facebook business profiles in your posts with an @mention. Type an @ in the text field and add the page title directly behind it. You will be shown suggestions in a drop-down menu from which you can select the appropriate page.
Time-shifted publishing
If you have selected several Facebook pages to publish a post, you can publish the post at different times. To do this, move the cursor over one of the pages and enter the time offset from the originally selected publication time.
π‘ You can also save the time settings as a publication template and select them for later publications.
Darkposts
Mark a Facebook post as a dark post to send it to Facebook without publishing it in the newsfeed. You can then promote the post and turn it into a paid post.
Definition of the target group
News Feed Targeting: Limit who can see your post in their newsfeed. Keep in mind that this will reduce the reach of your post.
Audience Restrictions: The settings you make here apply both to the newsfeed and the visibility of the post on the selected Facebook page.
π‘ Please note that the countries, regions and cities may not overlap in location targeting. If, for example, you only want to play your post for the city of Hamburg, it is sufficient to set Hamburg as the city. It is unnecessary to make the additional setting for Germany and make the post fail.
Branded Content
π‘ Facebook defines branded content as "content from a creator or publisher that features or is influenced by a business partner for mutual benefit".
You can mark this type of cooperation as branded content when creating posts in the Planner. Your Facebook page must be verified for this. The use is governed by Facebook's guidelines for branded content.
Multilingual posts
Create multilingual posts to display posts in the correct language depending on the language settings of the Facebook user. This feature is handy for posts you want to publish on Facebook pages of companies that operate in multilingual regions or countries, such as Switzerland.
By clicking on the arrow next to the Create Post button, you can select Create Multilingual Post.
First, fill in the general settings and start with the default language. Then add further languages and adjust the text accordingly. The restriction of the target group will now be adjusted accordingly. The default language is important because all users with a language setting for which you have not created a separate version will see your post in the default language.
Once you have finished editing, you can create all the posts at once. Note that this will create multiple posts (one for each language).
π‘ Support for this feature has been officially discontinued by Facebook. Therefore, we cannot guarantee support for this function either. Nevertheless, we would like to make this helpful function available to you as long as possible.
X
Post formats
You can create X status posts in the Planner. In addition to text, you can add images and/or videos from your media library.
X Group Messages cannot be published via Facelift. In addition, X does not allow cross-channel publishing, which means that you can only select one X account at a time when creating posts.
Page mentions
@mentions are possible in X posts. Type an @ in the text field and add the title of the account you want to mention directly behind it. You will be shown suggestions in a drop-down menu from which you can select a suitable account.
YouTube
Post formats
For YouTube, you can upload videos from your media library. You can also customise the title, description and thumbnail. You can also add tags and categories. Set the visibility of the video and decide whether the video statistics should be made public on the YouTube Watch Page.
YouTube Shorts
YouTube does not offer an explicit interface (API) for publishing videos as shorts.
By following certain guidelines made by YouTube, the likelihood that a video you upload will be listed under Shorts increases. If you want to schedule a video as a short, select YouTube as the network in the post creation and click on Shorts. Here we have also stored the specifications. Afterward, YouTube's algorithm decides whether your uploaded video is subsequently listed under Shorts.
Post formats
For LinkedIn, there are different post types that you can publish directly via Facelift.
Status: Text
Link: Text and a link including preview. Also, customise the preview image and the title
Photo: Text and up to 9 pictures from your media library
Video: Text and a video from your media library
LinkedIn Carousel posts can't be published via Facelift.
Page mentions
In LinkedIn posts, @mentions from other business accounts are possible. To do this, type an @ in the text field and add the title of the account you want to mention directly behind it. You will be shown suggestions in a drop-down menu from which you can select a suitable account.
Targeting
For LinkedIn posts, you have the option of limiting the newsfeed target group. You will find the settings below the profile selection in the post creation. Differentiate based on language, location, company size, company industry and job function, as well as job seniority. This is possible for profiles with 300 or more followers.
π‘ If the post is interacted with, the person's connection can also see it, regardless of whether they are in your target group.
Post formats
You can create different post formats for Instagram. There is a distinction between direct publishing and mobile app publishing. Read on in this article for a more detailed explanation.
Photo: Text and a photo from your media library. You can schedule photo posts via direct publishing or via mobile app publishing.
Carousel: Text and up to ten photos and/or videos from your media library. Carousel posts must be scheduled via mobile app publishing.
Story: Instagram Story posts with photos and/or videos from your media library.
Reel: A Reel post with a video from your media library. If Allow remixing is enabled, it will be possible to remix published Reels. It can be changed manually in the App.
For photo and video posts in Direct Publishing, you have the option of publishing the first comment directly with the post. This can be used for hashtags, for example.
Publishing Instagram live videos is not possible via Facelift.
Direct Publishing and Mobile-App Publishing
Depending on the post format, in the first step of the post creation for Instagram, you have to choose whether you want to publish directly via Facelift or via the Facelift app.
Direct Publishing for Instagram works the same way as you know it from the other networks. You can schedule the post directly via Facelift as usual, and it will be published at the specified time. This works for simple photo or video posts.
If you select Mobile-App Publishing, you can also schedule the post via Facelift so that it also appears in your Post Plan. At the scheduled time, however, it must be finally published via the Facelift app (available for iOS and Android) with just a few clicks.
π‘ Learn how mobile app publishing works in this article.
Page mentions and User Tagging
You can mention other Instagram profiles in the text of your posts with an @mention. To do this, type an @ in the text field and add the Instagram handle (username) directly behind it. In this case, you will not be shown a drop-down menu. So make sure that the handle is correct.
You also have the option of tagging profiles directly in the image. This is possible as soon as you have added a picture to your post. Then click on the desired position in the image in the post preview. A new window will open where you can enter the Instagram handle (username).
Again, no drop-down menu is provided, so you should be sure that you have entered the handle correctly (without @). Also, note that only public profiles can be marked. The post will otherwise fail. To mark more profiles, repeat the process. You can see the tags directly in the post preview and move them via Drag & Drop.
Location Tagging
You can also add location information directly in Facelift for Instagram posts. To do this, click on Add location under the point Location Tagging and type in the desired location. A drop-down menu will show you suggestions from which you can choose. The selected location will then also be visible in the post preview.
Click on the arrow next to the location to go to the linked Facebook page.
Post formats
You can publish posts on Pinterest via Facelift. Select a photo from your media library and add text. You also have the option to add a URL and automatically insert the details as image and text.
Post formats
Xing's interface (API) only allows status posts, i.e. mere text posts. You can publish these via Facelift. Photo, video and link posts are not possible.
