The interfaces (APIs) of the different networks partially limit the possibilities of publishing via third-party providers like Facelift. This article summarizes everything you need to know about publishing LinkedIn posts.
Post formats
For LinkedIn, there are different post types that you can publish directly via Facelift.
Status: Text
Link: Text and a link including preview. Also, customise the preview image and the title.
💡When you paste the link of a LinkedIn post, no preview is generated.
If you share a link that's longer than 26 characters, LinkedIn shortens them automatically.
Photo: Text and up to 9 pictures from your media library
Video: Text and a video from your media library
Document: Single or multi-page PDF document, which can be used to create LinkedIn carousel posts. The direct preview has not yet been implemented. You can view the document in a new tab by clicking on the preview.
You can publish the first comment with the post.
Page mentions
Company profiles and personal LinkedIn profiles can mention other company profiles via @mention. Company profiles can also mention their followers.
When you mention your followers, it is important that the personal profile is also available in English if English is not the default language of the profile.
💡How can I create my profile in another language?
To do this, type an @ in the text field and add the title of the account you want to mention directly behind it. You will be shown suggestions in a drop-down menu from which you can select a suitable account.
Targeting
For LinkedIn posts, you have the option of limiting the newsfeed target group. You will find the settings below the profile selection in the post creation. Differentiate based on language, location, company size, company industry and job function, as well as job seniority. This is possible for profiles with 300 or more followers.
💡 If the post is interacted with, the person's connection can also see it, regardless of whether they are in your target group.
