Meta, formerly known as Facebook, is introducing a new account type called work accounts for businesses. These accounts are designed to separate personal and business access, allowing users to use Meta's work tools with a separate login from their personal Facebook accounts.

💡 Meta has not yet allowed all accounts to switch to the new work accounts.

To set up work accounts for an organization, an admin will grant employees access to the Business Manager using work credentials, such as work emails. Employees can then claim their Meta work account, which the organisation can manage centrally. This new access will offer administrative features, including SSO support, automated account provisioning, and more.

If you switch to Meta work accounts, it's important to note that page admins must reauthenticate with third-party apps like Facelift using their new work accounts. Since platform permissions won't carry over to new Meta work accounts, ensuring no interruption to your publishing workflows is important.

However, Meta will provide a 30-day grace period to switch, during which Facebook account permissions for third-party apps will remain intact. It's crucial to reconnect (update the access token) with users' Meta work accounts within this period.

If you are considering migrating to Meta work accounts, we recommend to let us know beforehand to ensure a smooth transition. Our support and customer success team is there to help you with any questions or concerns.
