Mastodon is now part of Engage, bringing one of Europe's fastest-growing decentralised platforms into your social media management toolkit. You can manage Mastodon conversations and content directly alongside your other channels – all in one place.

What You Can Do with Mastodon in Engage

Facelift's Engage module supports the following actions for Mastodon via the Mastodon API:

  • Like statuses – React to posts directly from the Context panel in Engage.

  • Reply to statuses – Write and send replies to Mastodon posts without leaving Facelift.

  • Delete statuses – Remove content using the Delete Content option in the item menu.

💡 Please note that private messages are currently not supported in Engage for Mastodon.

Working with Mastodon in Your Inbox

Once your Mastodon profile is connected to Facelift, Mastodon content appears in your Engage inbox. You can create a Custom Inbox filtered specifically for Mastodon to keep your workflow organised.

In the Feed, you'll see incoming Mastodon statuses and replies. Selecting an item opens the Context panel on the right, where you can:

  • View the full post and its thread

  • Like the status using the thumbs-up icon

  • Reply directly via the Reply field at the bottom

  • Access additional options (including Delete Content) via the ··· menu

Why Mastodon Matters for Your Brand

Mastodon's growth across Europe is driven by its privacy-first approach, decentralised structure, and a community that values transparency. For brands, this means new opportunities to build trust and engage authentically with niche audiences – without the noise of traditional platforms.
