The Approval Dashboard shows all approval requests that are relevant to you. This includes requests you need to review, requests you submitted yourself, and requests that have already been completed.
Approval requests are grouped into three views:
Action Required
Waiting
Completed
Action Required
This is the default view.
It shows everything that currently needs your attention:
Requests that need to be approved by you
Your own requests that were rejected by others
These requests require a follow-up action, such as approving, rejecting, revising, or resubmitting.
Use this view to see what you need to take care of next.
Waiting
This view shows requests where you are involved, but cannot take action right now.
This usually includes your own requests that are still waiting for approval by someone else.
Use this view to check which requests are still pending.
Completed
This view shows requests that are finished from your perspective.
This includes:
Requests approved by others
Requests approved by you
Requests rejected by you
Completed requests usually do not require further action from you.
What You See in the Dashboard
Each request is shown in a table with key information, such as:
The item that needs approval
The person who submitted the request
The content type
The planned date
The approval status
The related networks, if available
You can use the search field and due date filter to find specific requests faster.
Approving or Rejecting Requests
When a request needs your approval, it appears in Action Required.
Open the request to review the content and approval details. You can then approve or reject it.
If you reject a request, you may need to add a comment so the requester knows what to change.
After your decision, the request moves out of your Action Required view. In multi-step approvals, it may continue to the next approver.
Tracking Your Own Requests
When you submit something for approval, it appears in Waiting until another person reviews it.
After review:
Approved requests move to Completed
Rejected requests move to Action Required, so you can revise and resubmit them
Non-Social Content Approvals
The Approval Dashboard also shows approval requests for non-social content, such as Frames and Content.
You can request approval directly in the object, and reviewers can manage the request from the dashboard.
For non-social content, the approval process can be connected to custom status workflows. The approval strategy defines from which status approval is required.
